The first Birth Pangs book, Fidelis<\/em>, was released twenty years ago. Shortly afterwards, a RPG was built as both entertainment and to promote the book. After some success, the game faded away.<\/p>\n

\"\"With book three, Caritas<\/em>, finally being released, it seemed good to revisit the RPG idea. Behold, a new and improved post-apocalyptic world has been created for you to explore and enjoy!<\/p>\n

The game is presently playable but under active development. It is intended to be a game that unfolds over time–3 to 9 months or more. That said, this initial phase should be seen as a precursor to the release of the ‘official’ game server which ought to coincide with the actual release of book 3.<\/p>\n

To get started, you need to register for an account, verify your email address, and then login. You will be prompted to create a game name and a city name. This is your initial city.<\/p>\n

At first, you will enjoy ‘newbie protection.’ However, you will be hard to reach in any case, since there will be no cities to–or from–your new city. Eventually you actually need to build the roads that are needed to help you connect to the other cities in the Birth Pangs Worlds. But beware: doing so makes it possible for adversaries to reach you, as well! (Roads may be built automatically by the game after a certain amount of time, so do not rest on your laurels too much!)<\/p>\n
